The sun is shining at the Chic-Fil-A in Cherry Hill, where I am currently sitting.

April is just around the corner. The weather is getting warmer. I am dusting off my Sublime CDs and loading them into the truck. I’m heading to Avalon to proudly hang my college flag from the deck and snort cocaine in the Windrift bathroom.

Summer approaches! Let’s play some baseball!

The Phils open tomorrow afternoon against the Braves, and we’ve learned that Kane Kalas, Harry’s son, will sing the national anthem while The Roots’ Questlove throws out the first pitch.

Here are some of the relevant rundown items from the Phils’ official website:

8:00 a.m. — New Era Phillies Team Store opens. Features limited-edition Opening Day collectibles and apparel.

12:35 p.m. — All gates open. All fans receive a Nemours Opening Day Rally Towel. Check out the new fan destinations at the ballpark including Pass and Stow featuring an outdoor beer garden, Goose Island at the Park outdoor bar, Foundry Pizza serving brick-oven pizza, a family-friendly sports pub, 44 TVs to catch game action and more. Also new: Shake Shack and Questlove’s Cheesesteak™ made with Impossible meat™! A 2019 Phillies Opening Day Scorecard will be available for $3 at Program Vendors, New Era Phillies Team Store, Phillies Authentics and more.

Plus, enjoy the Budweiser Block Party at the Third Base Plaza and Citizens Bank Way! The Budweiser Block Party features samplings from GIANT, Coca-Cola, Turkey Hill Dairy, J&J Snack Foods, Hatfield Quality Meats, and prizes from Cavity Busters, AT&T, XFINITY Mobile, CBS Radio and more. The Philadelphia Zoo will have a Zoo on Wheels, life-size LEGO® animal sculptures from the new “Creatures of Habit” exhibit and giveaways.

Fans can also take photos at the large Opening Day letters and iconic 19-foot high Liberty Bell (that was once located atop Veterans Stadium) as they approach the Third Base Gate.

2:00 p.m. — Party with Questlove as he DJs at the Third Base Plaza.

2:35 p.m. — As representatives from the U.S. military unfurl a large American flag, the Philadelphia Boys Choir and Men’s Chorale will sing “Philadelphia, U.S.A.” and “America the Beautiful.” State flags will be carried onto the field by members of the City of Philadelphia Police and Fire Departments.

2:52 p.m. — National Anthem: Performed by Kane Kalas, son of the late Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas, at his father’s statue behind Section 141.

2:55 p.m. — The Frog-X Parachute Team, made up of former USN Leap Frogs, will parachute onto the field delivering the first balls.

3:02 p.m. — Ceremonial first pitches: Five-time Grammy Award-winning musician, Questlove and representing Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, 11-year-old Daniel Scharff.

3:07 p.m. — Play ball!

5th Inning — The Phillie Phanatic’s first dance of the season.

7th Inning — Sergeant Jonathon Packard of the Delaware State Police will perform “God Bless America.”

Postgame — Questlove will DJ for 90 minutes postgame at Pass and Stow adjacent to the Third Base Plaza.

My prediction:

Phillies 7, Braves 4. Bryce Harper homers off of Julio Teheran. Rhys Hoskins adds another dinger. Aaron Nola goes seven innings while giving up two runs and the Phils’ bullpen closes it out. Gabe Kapler begins his campaign for MLB Manager of the Year.

Let’s fucking go.
