Joe Douglas Reportedly Set to Interview for Jets' GM Job Next Week
Question:
Would you go to a less stable company for more money and a promotion?
That’s basically the situation facing Eagles Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas, who was named as a possible candidate to become the Jets’ General Manager a few weeks ago. Today Ian Rapoport at NFL Network reported that Douglas will interview next week for the gig:
From Up to the Minute Live: The #Jets add a fifth GM candidate, Terry Fontenot from the #Saints, while three others are slated to interview. Sounds like Joe Douglas of the #Eagles has a tentative plan to interview next week. pic.twitter.com/OignuzaOov

“...presumed by many to be the favorite,” says Rapoport of Douglas.
The Jets fired GM Mike Maccagnan on May 15th, reportedly because he was not on the same page with new head coach Adam Gase. Gase was named acting GM, and here we are.
If Howie Roseman isn’t vacating his Eagles role anytime soon, I don’t see why Douglas wouldn’t go for this gig. He already won a Super Bowl here and it’s not like he has anything more to prove.
Shrug.
