Well, it wasn’t pretty, but the Phils got the series split in Chicago with a 9-7 victory today. I think the last two innings took two hours to play. Not that it matters to the guy who took home a cool $10,000 on his massive bet on the Phillies at PointsBet:

Aaron Nola went a little more than five innings, allowing three runs on four hits while striking out six. He threw 93 pitches. Twitter tells me he was pulled too early.

Jean Segura and Andrew McCutchen had two RBI days, Scott Kingery went 2-4, and Bryce Harper also knocked in a run.

The Phillies win. Wish I had placed a $10,000 bet on them.

This is a rather massive, random Thursday baseball game on which to wager a small Kia, say nothing the second $5,000 bet. Redefines “sharp money alert.”

PointsBet recently announced a $10,000 game day guarantee to take large bets on major sports action. This is outside the norm, where there have been some reports of NJ sportsbooks turning away this sort of action.
