A Real Estate Podcast Ripped Off Broad Street Hockey’s Logo

Well here’s something you don’t see every day.

Apparently former Flyer Brian Propp is the “Director of Strategic Relationships” for a company called “Wolf Commercial Real Estate.” WCRE recently launched a podcast called “Broad Street Brokers,” which sounds kind of boring if we’re being totally honest, but that’s not important. This story is about their logo, which looks very similar to the Broad Street Hockey SB Nation website logo.

See:

Yes, that looks very similar to BSH, which did not sit well with Deputy Managing Editor Kelly Hinkle and others, after the jump:

So this is a redone logo, with some adjustments. Apparently the first one was even worse, but I can’t find that image anywhere. If you have it, gimme a shout. According to Hinkle, the real estate company claimed they had never heard of BSH before.

We may actually be in cease and desist territory here:

So yeah, that’s about it. A real estate company launched a podcast and stole Broad Street Hockey’s logo (we are told that Propp has nothing to do with the podcast itself). If this goes to court, we’ll have a Crossing Broad reporter there for 24 hour coverage.

Edit:

here’s the first logo, sent along by a very appreciated reader, and juxtaposed with the altered logo and the BSH logo –

  1. The person who came up with the name of this podcast stole it from someone else. Everything on her end was fabricated. Too bad for the guy who runs the podcast as he probably didn’t know.

  2. I think that’s a really good way to do that. Dropping everything and going freelance is difficult – really difficult – even for the most talented people. I wouldn’t want to do it, and I have no question of my capabilities. It sounds like yo’re making the smart decision. I wish you good luck.
