Robertson spoke to reporters pregame today, confirming what I think we knew was coming down the pike:

Robertson:

“There is some concern not only about my flexor tendon, but my UCL, so it’s been a tough few days for me. Personally I’m pretty frustrated with myself, very disappointed because I really wanted to step in here on this team and help make a difference but it just hasn’t worked out that way for me.”

UCL means Tommy John surgery may also be necessary.

Robertson says he’s going to have a second opinion but it sounds like the surgery is definitely going to happen. He pitched six innings for the Phillies this season after signing a two-year contract worth $23 million. The irony here is that he’s been very healthy over the course of his career, having appeared in 60+ games every season dating back to 2010.

Bummer.
