Well this is something.

Breaking news out of Happy Valley today, where a former Penn State team doctor filed a lawsuit against the university and head ball coach James Franklin, claiming the Langhorne native pressured him to clear injured players.

Matt Miller at Penn Live with details:

Dr. Scott A. Lynch claims in a lawsuit filed in Dauphin County Court that Franklin repeatedly tried to influence his decisions regarding whether hurt players were fit to play.

Lynch contends that his complaints about Franklin’s supposed interference prompted Penn State officials to remove Lynch from his two posts charged with safeguarding the health of student athletes.

Lynch was removed as Orthopedic Physician for the football team and Director of Athletic Medicine for the university in March.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages from the university in his suit. He claims Penn State officials violated his rights as a whistleblower

Very interesting.

If I was a Penn State supporter, I might actually file a lawsuit for coaching malpractice. Franklin’s not much of an in-game manager, yeah? Guy is a fantastic motivator and recruiter and does all of the peripheral things well, but the Lions have blown multiple games they should have won over recent years.

Who runs the ball on 4th and 5 from near the 50 yard line?
