Here's Mayor Kenney with Megan Rapinoe and Pink Hair
Last night 49,504 people went to Lincoln Financial Field to watch the World Champion United States women’s soccer team beat the snot out of Portugal, 4-0.
It was a record crowd, the largest attendance figure for a standalone friendly in USWNT history. Nice job by Philadelphia showing up to support the squad. I’m actually stunned, since Philly isn’t exactly a bastion for soccer fandom.
Among the attendees was Philly mayor Jim Kenney, who apparently is a Megan Rapinoe fan. Here he is with pink hair:
Inspired by this team, and by Philly’s turnout last night. The atmosphere at the Linc showed what we’re all about—support, enthusiasm, and positivity. We even cheered the opposing team!

Also of note was Carli Lloyd scoring the third goal and then paying homage to her hometown Philadelphia Eagles:
.@CarliLloyd's scores. We check the board: 3-0.

Will she be kicking field goals for the Chicago Bears in the near future?
Only time will tell!
