Last night 49,504 people went to Lincoln Financial Field to watch the World Champion United States women’s soccer team beat the snot out of Portugal, 4-0.

It was a record crowd, the largest attendance figure for a standalone friendly in USWNT history. Nice job by Philadelphia showing up to support the squad. I’m actually stunned, since Philly isn’t exactly a bastion for soccer fandom.

Among the attendees was Philly mayor Jim Kenney, who apparently is a Megan Rapinoe fan. Here he is with pink hair:

Also of note was Carli Lloyd scoring the third goal and then paying homage to her hometown Philadelphia Eagles:

Will she be kicking field goals for the Chicago Bears in the near future?

Only time will tell!
