Joe Ostman Done for the Season with Torn ACL
Bummer.
The coaches really liked this guy, talked a lot about his work ethic and his attention to detail and the time he spent in the film room.
The Eagles’ second-year defensive end had a chance to make the team and contribute this season, but was carted off the field during Sunday night’s open practice. Today he was ruled out for the year with a torn ACL as the Birds put him on IR and signed Kasim Edebali as a replacement.
Ostman spoke with reporters today at NovaCare and said the following, after the jump:

Joe Ostman says they’re waiting for the swelling to go down, but he’ll have surgery on his ACL in the week.
Says he had indications from coaches he’d have a role this year. He’s trying to keep a positive attitude to come back next year. @FOX29philly

Feel bad for the guy. Can’t imagine what it must be like to work your ass off, get close, and then suffer that kind of injury.
