Here it is.

Our first Eagles injury report of the season.

We don’t typically get much of anything concrete until Friday, when players are officially listed as ‘out’ if they’re not ready to roll. But seeing as the Birds head into the season on the back of some long-term injuries, today’s list is a pretty good barometer for where we’re currently at.

The report:

  • did not participate in practice: Kamu Grugier-Hill (knee), Jordan Mailata (back), Nate Sudfeld (wrist)
  • limited participation: Derek Barnett (shoulder), Brandon Brooks (Achilles), Rudy Ford (Achilles), Jason Kelce (rest)

Notable is the total absence of Fletcher Cox, Ronald Darby, DeSean Jackson, and Nigel Bradham, who are slated to start on Sunday.

Also notable is the fact that Brooks took first team right guard reps at practice today, though it’s not clear whether he’ll play in week one:

Big V would start at right guard in Brooks’ absence. Grugier-Hill’s status was expected (MCL injury), though he was spotted doing some rehab work on the field today.

For what it’s worth, Doug Pederson didn’t have too much to say when asked about the injury situation this afternoon:

We’re easing these guys back in this week. Obviously, we haven’t made any decisions on who’s up, who’s down as far as the 46 goes. These guys are still working and we’ll make decisions on that issue later in the week.

We’ll get another report tomorrow.
