The Eagles public relations staff does a fantastic job transcribing press conferences and then sending the quotes to the media.

As a general practice, they will write out the entire question in bold, then put the reporter’s name in parentheses after the query. Not all teams do this, but it lets us know who asked the question itself.

So for example, it would look something like this:

Carson, what’s your favorite color? Is it blue? There were reports out there saying it was red. (Adam Schefter)

CARSON WENTZ: Well, actually my favorite color is seafoam green, which is sort of like teal. So those reports were wrong. They are fake news.

Makes sense, right?

So anyway, the Eagles had a nice Freudian slip and identified Les Bowen as Kansas head coach Les Miles on a transcript sent out this weekend:

It would have been interesting if Les Miles was in Philadelphia this weekend. But he wasn’t. He was busy squeezing out a fourth-quarter comeback, at home, against the powerhouse Indiana State Sycamores.

Anyway, thought that was good for a laugh. Eagles PR had college football on the brain, and I don’t blame ’em. It was a fantastic weekend of college ball.
