This Nick Foles Video Clip is All Over Social Media

This is not a Foles vs. Wentz story.

I just wanted to share this clip from a recent press conference in DUVAAAAAL, where Nick said some stuff about God and Jesus and then talked about his mindset as he worked his way back from injury. People are digging the hell out of this quote:

Large weiner Nick, in part:

“We tend to make this so much about us, as human beings, we tend to make this about us as athletes. It’s not about us. It really isn’t. It you make it about yourself, you’re probably going to go home at night, lay your head on your pillow, and be very alone and very sad. Hopefully someday you can find that purpose in your life. My purpose isn’t football, it’s impacting people. My ministry happens to be the locker room. I’ve been able still get to know people, get to know guys through an injury. Though I might not be playing, that’s difficult from a fleshly perspective, but from a spiritual perspective, from my heart, I’ve been able to grow as a human being, to where I feel like I’m in a better situation as a person then I was before, because of the trial I just went under. I know that’s a sermon in itself, but that’s how I go through life.”

It’s a great message, even if you’re not a Christian. I’d say this advice is applicable to anybody, whether they’re Jewish, Muslim, Sikh, Zoroastrian, Hindu, Buddhist, Atheist, Agnostic, Yazidi, Taoist, Wiccan, Shinto, or if they worship the ancient nature spirits of yore.

When you listen to that, it’s no wonder that BDN was well-liked by his teammates.

  1. The Nick Foles haters (why they hate Nick Foles is beyond me) are not going to like this.

    1. Foles gets it bigtime. The only thing that matters to God for the Christian is his/her being conformed to the image of Jesus and this is made perfectly clear in Romans 8:28-29. Anything and everything that comes into or impacts the life of a Christian is used by God in that conforming process. Once anything hinders that process, God is committed to changing it (Verse 28) This is why we are instructed to give thanks to God for all things, whether we like something or not. This is the eternal perspective that puts everything else in proper perspective and as such, allows Nick to be free of fear or doubt as he performs on the field which is the secret to his ability to play at the highest level in the most pressure-packed circumstances.

  2. Cuz annoys me rooting against nick . He should be forever thankful for what he did . 97.5 hates the guy

  3. No excuses. Foles is the definition of a mediocre quarterback. But this idiot-proof Eagles offense and the weapons that are on have set the true Lord and Savior, Carson Wentz the “greatest quarterback in franchise history” to run the table and win the Super Bowl this year. He has basically the same receivers as Foles and a way better run game.

    1. Same dope that says they got lucky to win now says they have no excuses not to win again.

Is being logical or repeating the same stupid agenda more important to you.

Again – you don’t know football.

Same dbag that said the Eagles couldn’t sign draft picks or get free agents because they had no cap room. Lol

  4. while you maybe right..

whats to explain the 11-2 from wentz that year…and the struggles this year…..HE WAS 11-2 do we forget…

I mean its bascially the same WRs (minus smith, celek, burton, and agholor in the slot)…

But yah pretty much the same team…COME ON!

  5. Even if he never played another down he got to a place where thousands of QB’s from high school, college to the pros have dreamed about. Released from the Rams and a few years later going up Broad Street. Wasn’t it one of the top ten stories in league history. There were other back-ups that have won Super Bowls but none that equal what happened here. Who is to say Carson ever gets back there. In case anyone hasn’t noticed the NFC is becoming a lot more competitive.

  6. Nick Foles is a Great Human Being.
We as philly sports fans had him here not once but twice. And in that 2nd go round delivered in a way no otherEagles QB ever did. Lightening in a bottle ?, perhaps But would any of us life long Eagles fans trade it for anything. I doubt it.

Thanks again Mr Foles. I wish you nothing but the best.
