Kind of a weird story here, so I’ll keep it simple.

Some folks were annoyed with Gayle King when a clip of an interview with Lisa Leslie began circulating on social media. In the clip, the pair are discussing Kobe Bryant’s 2003 rape case, and the complicated legacy he leaves behind.

Here’s the piece that bothered a number of people:

Among the perturbed was Snoop Doggy Dog, the D-O double G, the Doggfather, aka Calvin Broadus Jr., who let King have it in an Instagram post that is definitely not safe for work:

Says Snoop, in part:

“Gayle King, outta pocket for that shit. Way outta pocket. What do you gain from that? I swear to God, we the worst. We the fucking worst. We expect more from you, Gayle. Don’t you hang out with Oprah? Why y’all attacking us? We yo people. You ain’t coming after fucking Harvey Weinstein asking those dumbass questions. I get sick of y’all…”

It was certainly a ‘passionate’ response from Snoop.

King then took to social media this morning to address the criticism, saying this:

There you have it. You have her side of it, criticizing CBS for how the clip was excerpted and delivered. I think it’s a pretty honest way to respond to the anger she was receiving.
