Drew Brees Issues Apology for Flag Comments

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Long story short, Drew Brees got ripped yesterday after making some American flag comments that a lot of black athletes felt were insensitive and off-base in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death. Former Eagle and current Saint Malcolm Jenkins even told Brees to “shut the fuck up,” which should make for an interesting scenario when training camp begins.

Here’s the full apology from Brees if you wanna read it for yourself:

I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday. In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused. In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country. They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character. This is where I stand: I stand with the black community in the fight against systemic racial injustice and police brutality and support the creation of real policy change that will make a difference. I condemn the years of oppression that have taken place throughout our black communities and still exists today. I acknowledge that we as Americans, including myself, have not done enough to fight for that equality or to truly understand the struggles and plight of the black community. I recognize that I am part of the solution and can be a leader for the black community in this movement. I will never know what it’s like to be a black man or raise black children in America but I will work every day to put myself in those shoes and fight for what is right. I have ALWAYS been an ally, never an enemy. I am sick about the way my comments were perceived yesterday, but I take full responsibility and accountability. I recognize that I should do less talking and more listening…and when the black community is talking about their pain, we all need to listen. For that, I am very sorry and I ask your forgiveness.

  1. I can’t wait to go to the beach Saturday and get blacked out drunk & tan as shit. Worst year ever

    1. Gald we could bully and shame Brees into issuing an apology.

Any chance we can get him to apologize for the teams lack of SB wins the past 10 years?

      hmmm. i guess that okay.

RULE #1 – you’ll piss off the snowflakes NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY.
so keep your fucking mouth shut.

Apparently Brees has not learned Rule#1.

    1. They don’t matter. There’s no such thing as “police lives” or “blue lives” as you’re not born a police officer, you choose to become one. Oftentimes because you did too poorly in school to get into any sort of institution of higher learning.

  2. Too little, too late and he’ll spitting teeth for his insensitive comments towards African American players.

  3. hahaha I’m never apologizing for being white. an african mud hut, starvation, and disease seems like a much nicer lifestyle

  4. Good Morning Kevin…

    NEVER apologize to the mob.

The mob mentality is the problem.

White guilt lol…..I remember hearing someone say something about…..judging people by their character not their color

When you lump people together such as White people….or Black people….then you will see this type of bullshit.
George Floyd was murdered, NOBODY ELSE RIOTING was harmed in that terrible video.

  5. Fuck the Eagles. Fuck the NFL. Why support a League that has a pro-Black, anti-White man agenda?

  6. when is your apology coming, Kevin? Or does it just go away if you and Kyle keep ignoring the fact that a TV station fired you for using their social media account for spewing hatred towards minorities?

    1. Is this true?…I didn’t know this about kevin. If so, it would surprise me after his comments towards “Magats” last week.
The Tolerant left ladies and gentleman

      1. kevin refuses to admit what he did.
He’s hiding behind hsi ‘holier than thou’ liberal facade and casting judgement and mocking other.
meanwhile he shit all over the mexicans with his r a c i s t language?

        hiring someone f i r e d for r a c i s m fits right in with kyle hiring only whites and not hiring women.

        NO ETHICS?

        you decide!

  7. Makes me feel better! Now I won’t feel guilty taking him in fantasy.

  8. Looks like Soros set up more right wingers. More arrests for inciting riots. Damn that Soros. Conspiracy. Deep state.

  9. I know Don said I was a hero and a great man, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer. The guy is a moron. As a student of history, I can assure you the talking sweet potato is the worst leader in American history.

    Have a great day!

  10. heard it on good authority that yesterday a few from the group of Fishtown guys that Kinkreed was talking shit about went over to meet him at the dunkin’ donuts on Girard, offering him the opportunity to “say it to their faces”
He apparently got the balls to walk up there but then saw that a couple guys were bigger than him to he pissed himself and bolted back down Susquehanna.

What a fake hard guy pussy

  11. just so I understand. Malcolm Jenkins is allowed to diagree with Drew Brees, but Drew Brees isn’t allowed to disagree with Malcolm Jenkins.

  12. Liberals will not let you have your own onion; it’s not allowed! They preach that there shouldn’t be “any violence”, yet the bully, threaten or even try to harm you if you disagree. Something’s not right here….
