Philadelphia Joins New Jersey in Pausing the Return of Indoor Dining
New Jersey put the clamps on indoor dining earlier this week, now Philly is following suit:
Philly will NOT allow indoor dining to begin Friday, as new COVID-19 cases stop falling in the city.

Pennsylvania went green last Friday, but we here in the City of Infinite Fireworks Brotherly Love were held back for a week, since you know, population density and whatnot.
From McCrystal’s Inquirer writeup:
Health Commissioner Thomas Farley said 142 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in city residents were reported in the past day, raising concern about rising case counts, especially among teens who have participated in social gatherings or traveled to the Jersey Shore.
Gym and fitness center reopenings will also be paused until August 1st, along with indoor dining. We will, however, be able to use casinos, libraries, museums, and indoor malls Friday, with mandatory masks and blah blah blah restrictions, etc.
No word yet on when the basketball rims will be screwed into the backboards. The rec centers are open and we have kids using swing sets and crawling over slides and stairs but you still can’t air ball a three-pointer anywhere in the city.
FYI Murphy did the rounds earlier today talking about New Jersey’s decision:
New Jersey @GovMurphy explains his decision to pause on reopening and not allow indoor dining which was initially planned.
