Report: NBA Teams Can Bring 17 Players to Orlando

Update here via Shams:
Players who have signed an NBA/G League deal this year or a previous year are expected to be available to sign in restarted season — making Jamal Crawford or JR Smith eligible, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. https://t.co/v6Ntr4pb2t

If 17 is the roster number, the Sixers’ Orlando squad would look something like this:
- Joel Embiid
- Ben Simmons
- Josh Richardson
- Al Horford
- Tobias Harris
- Mike Scott
- Furkan Korkmaz
- Shake Milton
- Matisse Thybulle
- Alec Burks
- Glenn Robinson III
- Raul Neto
- Norvel Pelle
- Kyle O’Quinn
- Marial Shayok (two-way)
- Zhaire Smith
- ???
An expanded roster allows them to bring both Shayok and Smith, and they could go any number of ways with a 17th player. Give Trey Burke or Jonah Bolden a call. Bring up Haywood Highsmith. Sign… DeMarcus Cousins? Jamal Crawford and JR Smith are available, as Shams mentioned. The possibilities are endless! I think..
Earlier today, Woj reported that players who don’t want to participate in Orlando “could be replaced by a substitution player.” The league would reportedly allow replacements for players that get COVID or become injured, with the replaced players then becoming ineligible for the rest of the year.
