Report: At Least One Marlins Player Tests Positive For COVID-19
It was a weird scene in the hour leading up to the first pitch of the series finale between the Marlins and Phillies at Citizens Bank Park this afternoon.
As both teams were getting set for action, SportsGrid’s Craig Mish tweeted that multiple Marlins players had tested positive for COVID-19.
I am going to have to use caution with this, but my sources indicate there are some COVID related issues with the Marlins at the moment. I am unclear who or what or how many but this is developing.

Mish then followed with another tweet suggesting “multiple” players could have been impacted before confirming at least one positive result.
I can confirm at least one Miami Marlins player has tested positive for COVID-19.

A short time later, MLB Network insider Jon Heyman tweeted that three Marlins players, including Sunday’s scheduled starter, Jose Urena, had tested positive for COVID-19. Urena was scratched and replaced by Robert Dugger.
Have heard Urena plus 2 starting position players tested positive. Florida is a hot spot. Can’t say this is shocking. https://t.co/hxQqrFoefY

Marlins first baseman Garrett Cooper, who started the first two games of the series was not in the Marlins starting lineup. Baseball insider Robert Murray then followed with this:
Garrett Cooper is one of multiple Miami Marlins players to test positive for COVID-19, according to sources with direct knowledge.

Shortly before 1 pm, players from both teams re-emerged to begin stretching and throwing. Play got underway at 1:08 pm.
By 1:24 pm, it was 3-0 Phillies, following this blast off the bat of Bryce Harper.

Update: The lead, which would grow to 4-0, lasted for all of one inning. The Phillies and Marlins are still playing baseball.
