Braves Lose Mike Soroka for the Season With Torn Achilles
The Atlanta Braves got off to a 7-4 start this season but took a big hit Monday night when ace Mike Soroka was ruled out for the year with a torn Achilles
It was a non-contact tear, suffered while he was trying to cover first base on a ground ball towards Freddie Freeman:

Atlanta are the two-time defending NL East champs and Soroka was an All-Star last season, going 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA.
It would appear as though the division is wide open at this point. Atlanta loses an ace, the Mets stink, and the Nationals are whatever. The Phillies have played a grand total of four games and the Marlins three, after getting themselves infected with COVID-19 and then endangering other squads in the process.
We’re off to a flying start in the National League East.
