Last month we told you about DraftKings’ NFL Pick’Em contest, which has a guaranteed $2 million in prizes.
Well, we’re here to tell you about it again. Because as of today, five days before the contest entry locks, there are only 247 entries as of writing this.
Let me repeat that.
As of writing this, there are 247 entries (sure to go up after this) for a contest that has $2 million in guaranteed prizes.
Available to players in New Jersey, New Hampshire, and West Virginia, DraftKings NFL Pick’ Em for the 2020 season has a $1,500 buy-in. That’s a pretty significant stake, which during downtimes is clearly limiting for most betters. But with a top prize of $1 million, the odds of a massive return on investment for top finishers are quite reasonable.
Here’s how it works.
Sign up for the contest here if you’re in New Jersey, New Hampshire or West Virginia.
Players can enter with $1,500, and they pick the winners of five games each week during the 2020 NFL season.
There are two bye weeks that you can select for yourself.
Each player can submit up to 3 entries.
The payout structure is as follows:
- First place wins 50% of the total pool, and is guaranteed to be at least $1 million
- Second place guaranteed to be at least $250,000
- Third place guaranteed to be at least $125,000
- The top 50 players are guaranteed to win $2,500 each
As of writing this, you currently have a 20% chance of winning something, and a whole-digit percentage chance of winning six figures.
Surely more people will enter, but the overlay looks like it will be massive.
Unlike a number of other pools whose prizes are based on the size of the entry pool, DraftKings is guaranteeing a minimum of $2 million in prizes, with at least $1 million going to the top spot.
This represents a pretty incredible opportunity for players to get in and have a chance at some real money, albeit with a pretty significant stake.
