Crossing Broad recently reported that Tony Bruno’s show had been removed from SiriusXM and Sports Map Radio (formerly SB Nation), after publication of a Deadspin story that criticized him for comments made about LeBron James and NBA players. The controversy centered around a rant in which Bruno said “most of these guys can’t even read, for God’s sake,” which some folks believed was racist and inappropriate.

Today Tony confirmed cancellation of his show and responded to that decision in a Twitter thread explaining his thoughts on the matter:

Sure sounds like Tony is gonna call it a career.

He was running his podcast for a while after leaving 94 WIP, and then recently re-started the show with Harry Mayes, who was hosting middays on 97.3 ESPN with Eytan Shander before reuniting with Bruno. Sucks for Harry and the other people involved with the show, since they also lost their gigs.
