Today the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania set forth new guidelines allowing a limited number of fans to attend sporting events. They did it just in time for the Eagles/Steelers game on Sunday afternoon.

Unfortunately the game is not in the great city of Philadelphia, but the stinky shithole known as Pittsburgh, and according to ownership, they will allow a few thousand disgusting Yinzers into Heinz Field for week five:

Here at home, Mayor Kenney was asked about the possibility of having Eagles fans in the stadium, which would be week six at the soonest, against Baltimore. He sounded a little annoyed (my take) while giving this non-answer to the question:

Look, I can’t argue with the health and safety thing. It is what it is. Everybody’s got their own thoughts on COVID. My take is that we’re smart enough as a city to do our due diligence, come up with a comprehensive plan, and take baby steps in the build up to a full stadium. It’s not “jumping blindly” into the issue, as Kenney wrongly states. If these college programs can put a few thousand people in the stands each week, surely the great city of Philadelphia can figure it out. And if Pittsburgh can find a way to stuff 5,500 terrible towel-waving doofuses into their stadium, then surely we can also achieve that.

I do find it funny how Kenney brushes off Pittsburgh and Harrisburg as nothing cities (wouldn’t even mention Harrisburg by name). No, they aren’t Philly, but the Pittsburgh metro has more than two million people. The Harrisburg metro has 575,000. Those cities aren’t exactly New York, but they aren’t bumblefuck Idaho either.

If the Yinzers can have 5,500 revolting, smelly, Primanti Brothers-eating fans at Heinz Field, then surely we can figure it out on our end.
