Marlins Hire Kim Ng, Who Becomes the First Female General Manager in MLB History
This is cool.
The Miami Marlins today hired Kim Ng to be their general manager, which means she becomes the first female GM across all four of the “major sports” in North America.
In a social media post, the Marlins touted her 30+ years of experience in baseball, with a resume that began in 1990 with a Chicago White Sox internship that became a full-time job:
Ng most recently worked as MLB’s senior VP of Baseball Operations, and those Yankees and Dodgers stints were assistant general manager gigs. She has more experience coming into this job than Matt Klentak did when he got the Phillies’ nod a few years ago.
Speaking of the Phillies, they do not currently have a GM and J.T. Realmuto is a free agent.
