Nearly 4,000 People are Watching a Fixed-Camera Stream of Philly Poll Workers Counting Ballots
This isn’t a political post. It will contain no opinions.
It’s more of an observation, and the observation is that there are nearly 4,000 people currently watching a live stream of Philadelphia election workers counting ballots at the Convention Center.
Seriously.
It’s a fixed camera that looks down on on a bunch of tables and there are workers in yellow vests with stacks of ballots sitting around. When I went to check it out there were 3,904 people watching the stream:
I’m fascinated by the thought of who is watching this. Surely a number of journalists, right? Independent watch dog groups? Maybe operatives from each party, just to make sure nobody cheats. Better not see any shenanigans from these workers. I kept a vigilant eye on that group of folks to the left, but they must have been on break because they just sat there for a while. One lady was on her phone.
Later, a custodian came by with a big dumpster:
I kept an eye on this guy for a while to make sure he didn’t pull some shit. He could have very easily reached over the barricade and threw a bunch of ballots in the garbage, but he didn’t. He can be trusted.
Either way, we’re watching, all 3,904 of us. We’re staying vigilant.
