On Monday, Marc Farzetta dropped a tease, informing his 42,000 Twitter followers that he’d soon be hosting a new show.

The WIP and 97.5 veteran had recently been dropped by the Fanatic and replaced by John Kincade, who took over the 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. slot Farzetta hosted from 2018 to 2020.

Now he’s launching a daily Youtube show that will stream from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m., dubbed “The Farzy Show” –

Here’s the full press release announcing the news:

PHILADELPHIA, PA – January 29, 2021: Marc Farzetta today announced the launch of his new daily morning show “The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta” starting on Monday, February 1, 2021.  The show will broadcast live daily from 6am-7am exclusively on social media, including, YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter.  Immediately following the broadcast, the show will be available on all podcast platforms and for on-demand viewing onwww.FarzyShow.com.

The show will feature longtime Philadelphia sports talk personality, Marc Farzetta, bringing a fresh one-hour morning show to the city.  It will bring together a feel of traditional radio and TV and delivered for the new age medium of digital media and podcasting.

“I’m beyond excited to be a part of people’s mornings again,” said Farzetta. “And thrilled to keep the dream going of starting every morning with the greatest sports fans in the country.”

Farzetta will be joined by a different guest every morning, including a reoccurring weekly segment with former Eagle, Hugh Douglas. “My intention is to bring listeners their favorite players of both the past and present in addition to some of the biggest and best names covering sports,” said Farzetta.

The show will also be sending Marc back out “in the field” as he brings back his weekly “Farzy in the Field” signature segment, socially distanced of course, ensuring that he’s keeping up with the pulse of the city and most importantly, Philadelphia sports fans.

Additionally, ‘The Farzy Show with Marc Farzetta’ proudly announces sponsorship partnerships with DraftKings, FanUp, Zatos Investments, Steven Singer Jewelers, Sky Motor Cars, and Steak & Main as the premier sponsors and partners of the show.  The show is also proud to announce advertising partnerships with Rogers Counsel, Altomonte’s Italian Market, and BodyCheck Wellness, owned by Philadelphia fan-favorites Todd Herremans and Riley Cote.

“To learn of the support both from listeners and sponsors as well, is truly amazing and immensely appreciated.  I definitely don’t take any of this for granted.” said Farzetta.

The show will be live on YouTubeTwitchFacebook, and Twitter from 6am-7am, and then available on all podcast platforms for on-demand listening on www.farzyshow.com.

“I’m excited for everyone to see what we have planned. I want this to be something people can stream live or listen to and watch on-demand throughout their day. I think people are really going to enjoy it.”

This is intriguing in a variety of ways.

First, Farzetta left WIP to join 97.5, and Angelo Cataldi, his mentor, wasn’t very happy about that, so it was always assumed that Farzy would not be returning. His WIP days were pretty much done. FOX Sports the Gambler might have been an option, but iHeart has Sean Brace hosting afternoons and the rest of their slate is pretty much filled up. So, with terrestrial options seemingly limited, Marc is going his own route and doing his own thing and bringing the sponsors with him. When you have financial backing for your show, you can take it wherever you want, and Farzy decided to go digital with DK and Steven Singer and a couple of other familiar companies in support.

This is similar to what Eytan Shander and Harry Mayes are doing with their show, The Middle, which broadcasts daily from 11 to 1, also on Youtube. In addition to podcasts and other independent media, you now have a number of traditional radio guys going the internet streaming route, which makes for a different Philadelphia sports marketplace in 2021.
