Tonight, the Sixers and Pistons meet for the second time in three nights. The Pistons will once again play host to the Sixers, who handed them a 114-110 loss on Saturday night.

Let’s get into our Sixers-Pistons betting preview, including odds, boosts, and picks.

Preview

The best in the East clashes with the worst in the conference as the Sixers look to complete a two-game sweep of the Pistons. The teams met on Saturday night, resulting in a 114-110 Philadelphia victory. In fairness to the Sixers, the final result was closer than expected due in part to them playing on the second half of a back-to-back and three games in four nights.

Bets We Like With a Sixers Win

FiveThirtyEight gives the Sixers a 74% chance of winning with a -6.5 point line. Philadelphia’s implied win probability based on the moneyline is 69%.

Sixers to Win and Over 216.5 Points (+160, DraftKings)

From a talent standpoint, the Sixers are a far superior squad. Their 12-5 record has them firmly on top of the Eastern Conference, while the Pistons enter play in the basement at 3-13. Philadelphia has won seven straight games over Detroit and are 12-1 over the last 13 meetings between the teams.

Philadelphia and Detroit have seen the total points reach at least 221 points in four of their past five games, including Saturday night’s contest. Over their past five games, the Sixers have scored:

      • 137 v. Miami (1/12/21)
      • 125 v. Miami (1/14/21)
      • 104 @ Memphis (1/16/21)
      • 117 v. Boston (1/20/21)
      • 114 @ Detroit (1/23/21)

Detroit has scored at least 101 points in five straight games and at least 110 points in two of their last three games, including Saturday night’s game against the Sixers.

This one should also go in the Sixers’ favor. To get more bang for your buck, take the Sixers moneyline and parlay it with Over 216.5 points.

Sixers, Magic, and Pacers All to Win (+375, BetMGM)

This isn’t a bet we love, but it’s a nice odds boost available at BetMGM featuring three favorites. We outlined our rationale for taking the Sixers above, so let’s take a look at the other two games on this bet.

The 9-7 Indiana Pacers, who find themselves in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, will play host to the 7-9 Toronto Raptors. Toronto has overcome a dreadful start to the season to get within striking distance of the eight and final playoff spot in the conference. The Pacers are 1-3 in their past three games, including a 107-102 loss suffered at the hands of Toronto. In the second leg of a back-to-back playing at home, Indiana seems poised to get back on track. BetMGM has them listed as -2.5 point favorite.

The 7-10 Orlando Magic will host the 7-9 Charlotte Hornets in the second half of a back-to-back. Charlotte pulled out a 107-104 win on Sunday in a tight contest. The have lost back-to-back games, including Sunday’s loss to Charlotte. BetMGM has them listed as a -1.5 point favorite.

If you believe Indiana and Orlando will avenge their losses last night, consider this one for higher value than a Sixers win alone.

Bets We Like Independent of Outcome

Tobias Harris Over 18.5 Points (-110, BetMGM)

Tobias Harris has been on a legitimate tear, solidifying himself as the Sixers’ second-best option on offense. Joel Embiid’s questionable status could mean Harris will be expected to shoulder a much heavier scoring load. Although he only scored 17 points a game ago, that was due in part to Ben Simmons’ uncharacteristic fourth quarter takeover.

Prior to that, Harris scored at least 21 points in three straight games and is averaging 20.3 points per game in the month of January.

Ben Simmons Under 16.5 Combined Assists and Rebounds (-120, BetMGM)

Despite the return of sharpshooter Seth Curry to the Sixers’ lineup, Ben Simmons hasn’t seen his combined assists and rebounds go over 16.5 in three games. His 9 rebounds and 7 assists fell 0.5 short against the Pistons on Saturday night, the second time in three games he’s fallen short by that margin.

If you think he’ll go over 16.5 combined assists and rebounds, you can get it for similar value at -105.

Sixers vs. Pistons Prediction

Pick: The Sixers should win this one comfortably and the recent trends indicate a high likelihood the over hits. Take the Sixers to win and Over 216.5 points.
