You know what’s sad?

If we wanted to, we could fill the site with nothing but video clips of national media types complaining about the Eagles’ Sunday night tank, and it would get us through this entire week. We’d have enough fodder to last for four to five days, and maybe into next week.

Some of this nonsensical rambling is worth sharing and some is not, and at some point the poor dead horse will be beaten until it can no longer be beaten, but this one was worth posting:

It’s an arrogance issue?

Doug Pederson is arrogant? Because he is taking steps to improve the draft positioning of his four-win football team?

For some context here, the Saints weren’t even fined a million dollars for Bounty Gate. They got off with a $500,000 penalty and suspensions for coaches and players. Bill Belichick got $500k for Spygate and the Patriots were fined $250,000 and lost a draft pick. Pacman Jones was involved in a strip club shooting that paralyzed a man and he was able to continue playing football.

So let’s not talk about “arrogance” and “integrity” when the game has been disgraced annually, going on for 25+ years now.

In this situation, a coach did something that is admittedly less than desirable, but falls within the framework of NFL draft rules. If we want to eliminate losing on purpose, then perhaps it’s time for a draft lottery or something similar to what the NBA does.

This national media pile on is ridiculous. I hope the Eagles go 16-0 next season and run up the score on the Giants. Then Doug Pederson puts Tony Kornheiser in headlock and gives him a noogie while Joe Judge and his 7-9 team watch the playoffs at home, on their couches.
