So the other night, Bob Nightengale tweeted that Trevor Bauer was going to the Mets.

Apparently that was wrong, because he’s going to LA instead:

It came down to the Mets and Dodgers as the final two. That’s the story. In the end, Bauer chose to link up with his hometown team, which is good news for the Phillies in the NL East. Adding Bauer to that New York rotation would have been pretty nasty, so luckily he goes to the other coast instead.

The Mets still look good though. They’ve got Francisco Lindor and James McCann. Jacob deGrom and Pete Alonso. Noah Syndergaard will return from surgery. They’re gonna be a tough out as long as Steve Cohen is spending money.
