We’re not entirely sure what’s going on here, but this video is all over social media.

It features a guy walking into a Wawa and introducing his followers to the store. He shows them around, displays some of the things you can buy, and yadda yadda yadda, blah blah.

But within the first five seconds of the clip, listen to how he pronounces the store’s name:

“Waaa Waaa?” Who the hell says that? Never has anybody in this region ever pronounced the name that way, at least not that I’m aware of. I thought this guy might be from Florida, but later in the video he also says “brekky” and “jawn,” so who knows. Could be a transplanted Australian who moved to Boston and then down to Northeast Philly.

The guy who made the video appears to be a chef. He’s got a bunch of other videos up, and has 274,000 followers, so good for him. That is a robust social media presence.

But hopefully he’s messing around with that pronunciation, or its some kind of inside joke. Because if that’s seriously how he pronounces “Wawa,” then two years house arrest and a $25,000 fine does not seem unreasonable.
