Adam Schefter and the NFL Insiders are having themselves a day.
First we got a TIM TEBOW story, and now this:

This is the perfect Philadelphia sports media story. Every outlet will write some shit like “SHOULD THE EAGLES TRADE FOR AARON RODGERS?” The phone lines at WIP will light up. “The Birds should go out and get him!” “Howie Roseman should use the extra Miami pick!” Blah blah!
The answer, of course, is no. Absolutely not. Aaron Rodgers is 37 years old with a cap hit that makes trading him nearly impossible:
If the Packers were to trade Aaron Rodgers before June 1 it would actually cost the team MORE in cap space than if he remained on the team.
$37,202,000 to play in Green Bay
$38,356,000 to be traded awayLet's hope the team can figure this out.

Plus, the Eagles are trying to get younger and turn a corner in a transitional year. They don’t need to throw ton of picks at Green Bay for a guy they can’t even afford in the first place. They’re already paying the NFL’s biggest dead cap hit this season.
It’s fun to think about, but there’s a 0.000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of Rodgers coming to Philadelphia.
