Bryce Harper has certainly embraced Philadelphia sporting culture, but this is taking it to another level entirely:

Here’s the thing, and I don’t know if I’m gonna get ripped for this or not  –

But is Harper entering ‘pandering’ territory here? The t-shirt with Gritty and the Phanatic was cool. The Phanatic bad is badass. But then he shows up in Florida with the “Clearwooder” shirt and now he’s got pregame spikes that look like fuzzy bedroom slippers.

Don’t get me wrong; these are cool. But you do wonder how much is too much. Dude seems to love Philly, and that’s great, but we’re getting into weird territory here, aren’t we? It’s a little “thirsty,” as the kids would say.

Just a thought. Let’s go Phils.
