Big Daddy Graham Made it to the Sixers Game
Here’s a positive story.
Big Daddy Graham, who has spent the last year and a half recovering from a spinal bleed and is now confined to a wheelchair, made it down to the Sixers game on Wednesday night:
We made it! Thank you to the @sixers for the gear and all your incredible donations for the van. It’s @BigDaddyGraham’s first time out since last December.

My heart is bursting at all the love for my dad. He isn’t so quick with the whole social media thing but he is SO thankful for your support, as is my entire family. I know he is going want to share this photo with his good buddy John Clark so might as well get ahead of it! 💙 pic.twitter.com/iUHudKxMui

Good for Big Daddy, the longtime 94 WIP overnight host. That’s great to see.
Back in the summer of 2019, he wound up in the Jefferson ICU with spinal bleeding connected to blood thinners. He had surgery but wound up paralyzed from the waist down. He did rehab at Magee, got himself into a wheelchair, and then made it out publicly in November of that year for an event to launch the revised edition of the book he co-wrote with Glen Macnow (The Great Book of Philadelphia Sports Lists).
Ava has been updating people on her dad’s progress via social media, and Big Daddy stays active on Twitter as well.
