We’ve known for some time now that Howard Eskin absolutely hates Ben Simmons and has an agenda against the Sixers. Every single time he talks to Simmons, he asks about the jump shot. “Why don’t you shoot the ball” and blah blah blah, knowing that he’s not going to get a decent answer. There’s never a mention of Ben’s elite defensive play or passing ability or tempo setting.
Now this video clip comes along, which shows Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni giving fist bumps to the local media before practice, not realizing that he will totally loathe this group in five month’s time.
But if you listen closely you can hear somebody in the background speaking with Eskin, who is just trashing Ben Simmons:
From what I can make out:
Eskin: “He doesn’t want to get fouled… he kicks the ball out and (inaudible)”
Other guy: “Yeah, that’s an assist. In the NBA that’s an assist.”
Eskin: “He got an assist when the guy dribbled three times… that’s not a assist, it’s a gimme… (inaudible)”
Other guy: “I mean, what does Doc say about it?”
Eskin: “He (inaudible, something about having no respect for me and you?)”
Other guy: “They’re going to be at the parade and you’re going to be shitting on them (inaudible)”
Eskin: “(barely audible) …there won’t be a parade”
Hilarious. Fantastic stuff.
We knew Howard hated Ben Simmons and has hated the Sixers for years now, but here’s further proof if you needed it. The guy can’t stop himself from shitting on Ben, even at a football practice. Howard’s shtick is basically going really easy on the Eagles, since he’s the sideline radio reporter, then he rips every other team in town to give off the fake impression that he’s asking “tough questions” and keeping the coaches and players honest.
What a fraud. A moron and a nitwit. A total dope.
