On Thursday night, the Milwaukee Bucks will play host to the Brooklyn Nets for Game 6 of their Eastern Conference Semifinals series.

Let’s take a closer look at the top Nets vs. Bucks Game 6 player prop picks and make some predictions for this June 17, 2021 NBA Playoffs matchup.

Nets vs. Bucks Game 6 Player Props (June 17, 2021)

The Eastern Conference Semifinals series between the Brooklyn and Milwaukee could be coming to an end on Thursday night as the Nets travel to the Fiserv Forum to take on the Bucks. Two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will need to put on an MVP-caliber performance if Milwaukee is to have any chance of staving off elimination. It’ll be a tough task to topple the Nets, especially given the all-time performance Kevin Durant put together in Game 5.

Durant’s Game 5 will go down as one of the greatest performances in NBA postseason history. He shot an astounding 16-23 (69.6%) from the field, including 4-9 from beyond the arc en route to a 49-point performance. KD also posted game-highs in rebounds (17), assists (10), steals (3), and blocks (2). In short, he was a  one-man wrecking crew and the key determining factor in the Nets’ victory. James Harden shocked the basketball world by playing 46 minutes despite being listed as doubtful mere hours before tip-off. Although he shot just 1-10  from the field, his presence on the court was enough to keep the Bucks’ defense honest. Jeff Green’s 27-point explosion and Blake Griffin’s 17 were also an important factor.

The Bucks squandered a solid performance from their starters, including a 34-point, 12-rebound showing from Antetokounmpo. Khris Middleton (25), Jrue Holiday (19), Brook Lopez (15), and Pat Connaughton (10) all broke double figures in scoring. Milwaukee will need a similar performance in Game 6 if they are to have any hope of sending the series back to Brooklyn.

Will the Nets wrap up this series or will the Bucks send it back to the Barclays Center?

James Harden to Score Over 16.5 Points (-127, DraftKings Sportsbook)

Just hours before Game 5, it appeared that Kevin Durant would be the only member of Brooklyn’s dynamic trio to suit up. However, word got out early Tuesday afternoon that James Harden had been upgraded to doubtful with the intention of playing. In fairness, he didn’t quite look like himself and showed plenty of rust, but throughout his career he’s proven to be a player who can flip a game on its head.

Despite shooting just 1-10 from the field, including 0-8 from beyond the arc, Harden did just enough to draw defensive pressure, which freed up Kevin Durant to have a historic performance. Despite his prior doubtful status, he ended up playing 45:39 of game action.

Given the fact that Harden is expected to play and got through nearly 46 minutes in Game 5, it’s likely he’ll find his shooting stroke, attempting double-digit field goal attempts. Harden’s propensity for drawing contact and getting to the free throw line could represent nearly half of the 17 points needed for this one to hit. Keep in mind that prior to his injury, Harden had posted at least 20 in each of the five first round games against the Boston Celtics. Getting a prolific scorer like Harden to score over 16.5 points at -127 odds is as good as it gets.

Brook Lopez to Make Over 1.5 Three-Point Field Goals (-120, BetMGM)

In the ever-changing landscape of big man play in the NBA, traditional centers like Brook Lopez have spent plenty of time in the gym looking to extend their range. Lopez struggled from beyond the arc in the first round against the Miami Heat, shooting just 1-8. After an 0-1 performance in Game 1 of this series, he’s hit at least one three-pointer in each of the last four games.

Lopez is coming off a series-high 3-5 shooting performance from downtown in Game 5 after going 2-6 from deep in Game 4. Lopez has hit at least 2 three-point field goals in three of his last four games, shooting 8-19 from deep over that stretch. It’s also worth noting that Lopez had success from deep in three regular season meeting with the Nets, shooting 2-8, 2-7, and 3-8 from deep in those contests. Given his recent form and prior success against the Nets, -120 odds are a solid bet for this market.

Khris Middleton to Record Over 4.5 Assists (-122, FanDuel Sportsbook)

Khris Middleton has ramped up his play as of late, averaging 26.3 points per game from Game 3 through Game 5. One of the most valuable areas in which he has improved over the past couple of games has been his ability to rack up assists.

After dishing out just one assist in Game 2 and one assist  in Game 3, Middleton has handed out at least five helpers in each of his last two games. Games 2 and 3 aside, Middleton is averaging 5.7 assists per game this series.

Given the importance of Game 6 in extending this series, as well as the fact that Middleton has gotten more involved in the overall offensive gameplan as opposed to solely looking for his own shot, expect him to rack up at least five assists.
