People always say things like “you’re just giving this guy what he wants” when we write a story about a media dope who says something corny. But you have to ask yourself if attention is currency. It’s not. You don’t cash it in for anything meaningful or beneficial. The person who said “all publicity is good publicity” obviously never watched Undisputed, with Skip Bayless.

Which brings us to Chris Simms’ top-40 quarterbacks ranking. Simms, who had a short NFL career, is now a television guy, and he does this list every year. I think.

Here’s what he went with in 2021:

Jalen Hurts isn’t even on the list.

And I know the guy only played a handful of games a rookie, but how, in the name of sanity, can you rank guys above him who haven’t even taken a NFL snap? It’s fugazi! (as The Cuz would say).

Beyond that, Josh Allen over Aaron Rodgers is ridiculous. Mac Jones at 30? Stafford over Brady? Kellen Mond? Tyrod Taylor? TAYSOM HILL? What the hell are we even doing here?

Congrats, Chris Simms got his attention. But he doesn’t receive anything beneficial from it. People now think he’s a nitwit. A moron. A dope!
