Basically somebody said “take The Masked Singer and turn it into a dating show.” And a Netflix executive responded “yeah let’s do it,” like Doug Pederson told Nick Foles at Super Bowl 52. They greenlighted this monstrosity.
The funny thing is that all of the people in this show appear to be physically fit, with attractive bodies. So you’re gonna brand this as falling “in love with someone based on personality alone,” but there’s no diversity in shape or size and so the entire purpose is defeated, isn’t it? Shouldn’t they roll out a 400 pound Berks County dude in a Jason Kelce dog mask and see if the blind date likes his personality?
Something to think about.
If anybody watches this, let me know how it is. It will probably flop, but you never know. It could be an award-winning series. The next Breaking Bad or The Wire.
