Is There Room for Another Dick Rod in Philadelphia?
Some Phillies news on a slow Tuesday:

Another Dick Rod? This town is only big enough for one Dick Rod, and he plays for the Eagles!
Just kidding.
Rodriguez is the Pirates’ closer. 14 saves this year with a 2.82 ERA. He’s 31 years old and not set to become a free agent until 2024, so they’d get a few seasons of team control if they make a move.
Problem is that his numbers dipped a bit in July, and the slide seems to coincide with MLB’s foreign substances crackdown. That could be coincidental, but a lot of people have been pointing that out on social media. The Phils would be getting post-Spider Tack Dick Rod.
Regardless, the Phillies could use back-end pitching help. We know this. Nothing is guaranteed beyond the 6th or 7th inning on most nights, and this seems like the type of move that help a .500 team without breaking the bank. Craig Kimbrel is the better player but is going to cost more.
