Chuck Fletcher said the Flyers were going to re-sign Sam Morin, and now it’s official, per the team:

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed defenseman Samuel Morin to a one-year contract extension with an Average Annual Value (AAV) of $750,000, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Morin was the Flyers’ first round pick back in 2013, and dude has been through quite a bit.

He suffered two season-ending knee injuries that required surgery, and then converted from defense to left wing, then back to defense again. That’s what they called him in the press release (a defenseman) and that’s where he’s expected to play in 2022, with a grouping that now includes Ivan Provorov, Ryan Ellis, Travis Sanheim, Rasmus Ristolainen, Justin Braun, and Cam York. Anthony says he’s outside of the top six, probably the 7th or 8th d-man to begin the season.

Morin did end up playing a career-high 20 NHL games this past year and scored his first NHL goal:

Defensive depth signing for the Flyers.

Edit – I originally wrote Nate Prosser instead of Cam York because I’m a dumbass.
