The Vine Street Expressway is Totally Flooded
Everybody alright out there? Wednesday night was bonkers. We had tornado warnings, flooding, cars stuck on the road, wind, etc. It was insanity. Worst weather event in this region since Sandy, right?
There are a ton of local clips worth showing, but the footage of 676 in Philadelphia is bonkers.
Look at this stuff:

That’s facing westbound as you approach the exits to 76 east and west. Looks like the photographer was standing right around 22nd street.

Bananas. The road looks like a canal. I’ve never seen anything like it.
Here’s a video clip from Eyewitness News:
NEW VIDEO: Chopper 3 was over the Vine Street Expressway in Center City where historic flooding closed down the road near the Ben Franklin Parkway Exit, just a few hundred yards from The Art Museum. pic.twitter.com/XhiLdgQ07C

Wow.
Here’s an expanded look that covers Boathouse Row, which some Sixers fans didn’t like seeing on the new jerseys because it was “out of touch” or whatever:
Philly is one with the Schuylkill this morning. Boathouse Row, submerged. Vine Street Expressway, submerged. That brand new Giant… submerged. Historic flooding possibly not seen here in more than a century. @CBSPhilly pic.twitter.com/oKwtlWe3fc

Stay safe out there. Shout out to all the first responders and good samaritans and meteorologists and everybody busting their ass right now.
