ESPN recently booted Max Kellerman off First Take at Stephen A Smith’s behest, and now a couple of replacements have been announced.

Both have appeared on the program before.

It’ll be Michael Irvin every Monday and Tim Tebow every Friday, via Pro Football Talk:

For football season, it will be (as expected) Michael Irvin on Mondays. On Fridays, Tim Tebow will square off with Stephen A.

ESPN announced the moves on Thursday.

On other days, Smith and host Molly Qerim Rose will be joined by a wide variety of contributors: “Paul Finebaum, Keyshawn Johnson, Mina Kimes, Kimberley A. Martin, Monica McNutt, Jessica Mendoza, Chiney Ogwumike, Dan Orlovsky, Kendrick Perkins, Marcus Spears, Brian Windhorst, Damien Woody and many more.”

So it’s basically Stephen A Smith and a rotating cast of characters, with a couple of once-per-week recurring guests. Seems like a decent way to proceed. Just put a different talking head in there and let Stephen A do his thing.

Tebow has been alright on the show, I guess. He’s not bad on television. Stephen A vs. Irvin is ridiculous. Some amazing TV when those two start to go at it. Debate shows generally blow, but I could watch Stephen A vs. Irvin any day of the week.
