Do you want Ben Simmons back?
I’d imagine the portion of people who respond ‘yes’ to that question is rather small. It feels like the damage has been done.
Plus, even if Ben does come back and commits himself to the team, you’re getting back the same player that was an offensive liability in the playoffs. You’re not getting back a guy who figured it out. There are still serious on-court issues that need to be resolved.
But it would seem as though Ben’s camp just wants the financial bleeding to stop. He’s lost more than half a million dollars in fines so far. Maybe they claim he’s injured, and he doesn’t play, or he just pulls a James Harden and kind of half-asses the whole thing. The first time he appears in front of media or fans is going to be insanity.
Never a dull moment in Sixers land.
