Let’s get it back to Ben Simmons.

This from Ramona Shelburne at ESPN:

Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Ben Simmons passed his physical and held a meeting with the team’s front office on Tuesday, but he remains ineligible to participate in team-related activities until Friday, at the earliest, due to NBA health and safety protocols, sources told ESPN.

Simmons met with Sixers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and general manager Elton Brand — his first conversation with them since August — in a meeting sources described only as “brief.”

Simmons returned to Philadelphia on Monday night, unbeknownst to the Sixers, and took a COVID test since he was coming from out of market.

There’s also this:

What you see now is some speculation about Ben’s vaccine status. Nothing but speculation, and mostly reckless. There’s nothing in either of these reports suggesting that he is not vaccinated. And for what it’s worth, the NBA currently has more than 90% of its players vaxxed.

Ben came to Philly from out of market, hence the situation.

From Fischer’s story at Bleacher Report:

In accordance with the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the All-Star has to work out alone until he has five days of negative COVID-19 tests, and the earliest he could rejoin his teammates in full would be Friday.

There’s a lot of good stuff in that story. Worth checking out. Meantime, the Sixers practice in Camden Wednesday afternoon, so we’ll see if we get any tidbits about Simmons’ status from the guys that are presented to the local scribes after the session.
