Carson Wentz threw for 400 yards and two touchdowns last night, and the Colts still lost.

Hard to pin it on the former Eagles quarterback. Yeah, he did lose a fumble in the first half, but put his team up 22-3 before Lamar Jackson went into beast mode. Indy had a field goal blocked and then missed a second field goal, which would have won them the game.

The good thing is that Carson is staying on the field, and has now logged 98% of the snaps this season:

As you know, the Colts’ second-round draft pick conveys to the Eagles as a first rounder if Wentz plays 75% of the snaps this year, or 70% with a playoff appearance. That second scenario is looking unlikely as the Colts fall to 1-4, but unless Indy sits Wentz to preserve that first round pick, it’s looking pretty good for the Birds, who will receive a selection that is going to be higher than we thought.

Knock on wood. No jinx.
