According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there’s a mini COVID outbreak going through the Cowboys organization:

Dallas plays New Orleans on the road on Thursday night. They’ve lost three of four while the Saints have lost four straight. It was the “something’s gotta give” bowl, but now things get a little more complicated.

It’s hard to get juiced about the division standings after the pitiful Giants loss on Sunday night. If the Eagles won, they would have clawed back to 6-6, with Dallas 7-4 and a game against Arizona remaining on the schedule. Instead, the Birds fell back to 5-7 with each team playing the following schedule to finish the year:

  • Eagles: at Jets, vs. Washington, vs. Giants, at Washington, vs. Cowboys
  • Cowboys: at Saints, at Washington, at Giants, vs. Washington, vs. Arizona, at Eagles

Dunno. I just don’t see it happening. I think Dallas beats the Saints unless the COVID positives that come back are Dak, Micah Parsons, etc. All of their key dudes. NOLA stinks and won’t put up much of a fight against a decent-strength Dallas side. Best we can hope for is perhaps they trip up at WFT or the Giants, and then things get interesting in Week 17 and 18. Of course, that’s contingent on the Eagles getting their act together after losing to fake tough guy Joe Judge.
