Phillies Reportedly Showing Interest in Starling Marte
Phillies tidbit:
Phillies are interested in Starling Marte, the top CF on the market. Many in on him but this is one of the better fits.

The Phils are moving on from Odubel Herrera and Andrew McCutchen, so they have holes to fill in left and center.
Marte is 33 years old now, but had a good 2021 season, which was split between Miami and Oakland. He batted .310 with a .383 on-base percentage and .458 slugging number. That equates to a .856 OPS, which is better than what they were getting from Cutch or Odubel. Marte knocked in 55 runs, hit 12 homers, bagged 27 doubles, and stole 47 bases. He can lead off for you.
Marte played most of his career with the Pirates, so there’s very little postseason experience. A grand total of nine playoff games. But you could say the same about most of the Phillies, since the team hasn’t been to the postseason since Obama was still in his first term. Marte was an All-Star with the Pirates in 2016 and also won a pair of Gold Gloves there, so you’re getting a marked upgrade in center.
This would be a good move. He’s a solid player. An adequate update. But what’s the price?
