Serena Winters is back?

Not on the sidelines, but back in the Sixer-verse:

Locked on 76ers was Keith Pompey’s podcast. There hadn’t been a new episode since October 19th, so I guess now we know why. Winters is going to be hosting it instead.

Serena got a shit deal in 2020. She was laid off in August, as part of the same round of cuts that saw Derrick Gunn and Gregg Murphy leave NBC Sports Philadelphia. The network basically decided to cut sideline reporters during COVID (but hung on to Taryn Hatcher and moved her from the rink to the desk). Serena was supposed to get married that summer but instead lost her job in the middle of the pandemic and had to delay the nuptials to 2021, so talk about a raw turn of events.

Winters replaced Molly Sullivan back in 2018, joining the Marc Zumoff and Alaa Abdelnaby broadcast team. She also appeared on the pregame and postgame shows and created web content. Winters came to Philadelphia from the west coast, where she spent a number of years covering the Lakers for Time Warner and LakersNation.com.
