Howard Eskin is a dope.

He regularly appears on the first hour of Joe Giglio’s show, and Tuesday offered up a 2 for 1 in absolutely ludicrous takes. These takes are so bad that even Angelo Cataldi is rolling his eyes:

Just so we’re clear here, Howard thinks the Sixers should trade their MVP candidate, a guy who is currently averaging 29 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists and playing his best basketball ever. In addition, the football team should pursue a guy currently saddled with legal issues, which caused him to miss this entire season. Great idea, genius!

It’s comedic how much Eskin hates the Sixers. They could go 82-0 and then Fo’ Fo’ Fo’ en route to a title and he’d still find something to complain about. This guy has had a pitifully sad agenda against the team going back at least to the Doug Collins era. The childish Embiid criticism was so bad that his former producer had to hang up on him. Joe “The Hammer” DeCamara put the kibosh on that, which tells you all you need to know. Howard was being such a nitwit and jerk that he got dumped on his own station.

And then to say the Eagles should go after a guy who has had more than a dozen people come out and accuse him of sexual misconduct? A dude with more current toxicity than 2002 System of a Down? Gee, that will play really well with the fan base.*

Howard’s shtick is so exhausting. Super negative and critical about the Sixers and Phillies. Flyers barely even exist. And then the Philadelphia Eagles are God’s gift to the world and can do no wrong. Dave Spadaro is now reporting on the Eagles with more objectivity than Howard.

Rod Lakin, if you’re reading this, the time is now. It’s time for Howard to ride off into the sunset. Retirement beckons. Send Howard packing along with Angelo at the end of the year (or preferably sooner). And then let Joe Giglio do his own show, once the Eskin stench blows out to sea. Free Joe Giglio of The King’s clutches and let him do a radio show free of dopey Howard influence. Do the right thing, Rod. Bring an end to the corny contrarian “take a fake side” radio that has infested the great city of Philadelphia for too long now.

*EDIT – yes, pursuing Watson is dumb. It doesn’t matter if he settles with every single accuser and they sign a NDA. Making the accusations go away isn’t the same as being cleared of wrongdoing (which would mean the case goes to court and is prolonged even further), and why would you want that headache anyway? It’s kind of like Michael Vick going to jail and serving his time, but animal lover Eagles fans hated the guy anyway. Stick with Jalen Hurts or do something else with the QB position. Enough with the Watson stuff. The Eagles generally have good dudes on the team who are high character people and in this case the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
