Daniel Jeremiah is a former Philadelphia Eagles scout and he dropped a take so hot that the entire internet burned down:

Really going out on a limb with that one, eh? Really revealing the secret formula here. NFL teams need an elite quarterback, great pass rushers, multiple offensive playmakers, and a good offensive line. In that tweet, Jeremiah has described pretty much every offensive position and 36.3% of the defense. Note how he didn’t mention linebackers, which has Howie Roseman smiling. And I would actually amend the tweet to say that you need at least one Pro Bowler in the secondary, too. Los Angeles rolled out Jalen Ramsey this year and the Bucs had Antoine Winfield last year. Chiefs had Honey Badger.

Perhaps the depressing thing is that the Eagles have very little of what Jeremiah describes. They don’t have an elite quarterback. They don’t have “pass rushers galore.” They have one, in Josh Sweat, and return an aging Brandon Graham who is coming off an injury. They certainly do not have multiple offensive playmakers. But they do have a serviceable offensive line, which is one of the better units in the entire game.

There’s work to do. NFL Draft can’t come soon enough.
