Hurricane Schwartz, Who Once Dunked on Ben Simmons, is Retiring from TV
As if O.G. television GOAT Jim Gardner retiring wasn’t enough, now Glenn “Hurricane” Schwartz is leaving us. He’s calling it a career:

Hurricane is gonna dabble in a bunch of different things. That’s cool. He’s more than welcome to do a guest post for Crossing Broad on a topic of his choosing. It can be about the Eagles’ QB situation, Ben Simmons’ best three-pointers of all time, or a Philadelphia Stars season preview. He can write about anything he chooses.
Good for Hurricane, though. Guy is a local legend. 42 years on television! He’s been on TV since I was negative five years old. He also wrote a couple of books, one of which was a fiction thriller about climate change.
One of Glenn’s best moments was when he flipped shit on the Phillies and Major League Baseball for playing with lightning in the area:
But the best moment was when he dunked on Ben Simmons, live on television. Ben was put on a poster by Hurricane, who said “what is wrong with that guy?” and then issued a warning:

Love it. Even the 70-year-old meteorologists get in on the sports action in this town.
For real though, congrats to Hurricane on a great TV career. We’re losing some good ones around here. Jim Gardner, Hurricane Schwartz, Vernon Odom, etc. I’ve got Sheena Parveen at +350 odds to replace Hurricane. She’s doing mornings in San Diego but at +350 odds, you have to throw at least a fiver on it.
