Wrestling superstar Scott Hall died on Monday at the age of 63. He performed as Razor Ramon in WWE and under his own name as a member of the NWO for World Championship Wrestling.

Kevin Nash, Hall’s closest friend and former tag team partner, first wrote on Sunday that Hall was on life support, and would be removed from life support once family was able to gather. That took place the following day and Hall passed. It’s being reported that he was dealing with complications from hip surgery, which kept him in the hospital.

If you were a wrestling fan back in the day, no doubt you watched Hall perform. He had a great personality. Those Razor Ramon appearances were something else. And the whole NWO angle was hugely popular at the time, which featured Hall alongside Nash, Hulk Hogan, Buff Bagwell, Scott Steiner, Eric Bischoff, and others. The signature toothpick and slicked back hair really gave Hall this uniquely cool look back in the day. “The Bad Guy” was his nickname and the dude was larger than life.

Local guy Brian Heffron, who spoofed the NWO in Extreme Championship Wrestling, checked in on Twitter:

It’s shitty when these guys die. Feels like you lose a little bit of your childhood, you know what I mean? Feels like yesterday that Scott Hall and Shawn Michaels were bashing each other during that famous 1995 Summer Slam ladder match. Russ and Coggin would know better than me, but that’s probably the Scott Hall match that stands out the most. There was another ladder match at Wrestlemania 10 and I vaguely remember a 3v3 match with Hall, Nash, and Hogan taking on Lex Luger, Sting, and Randy Savage.

RIP Scott. Great wrestler, great on the mic, great personality.
