Jayson Werth repaid his debt to the Phillies. The Phillies would’ve been insane to give him the money the Nationals gave him at the time, but it didn’t make it right that he went to a rival. Werth obviously knew that and as a peace offering planted the seed in a young Bryce Harper’s head. That’s a guy who watched Ryan Howard hit bombs into the right field upper deck who knew Bryce would be wasting his career if he didn’t play in Philly. Who would’ve thought the douchebag we hated in DC would become the guy we love today in Philly. Not I.
So what did we learn?
Bryce Harper is an insanely genuine dude for being a baseball protege and guy who makes $330 million. This team is going to mash. He’s pro-shift. And he hates Villanova:
